These fees apply to in-person and telehealth consultations. Extra investigations (e.g. spirometry, ECG, 24Hr BP Monitors and Holter Monitors, pregnancy tests, etc) are charged separately. There are various treatment room fees that may apply to your procedure (and no Medicare rebate applies):

  • single biopsies - $35.00 facility fee
  • minor procedures - $70.00 facility fee
  • major procedures - $100.00 facility fee.

​SCMP has introduced wound care fees for dressings and other consumables. More information on pricing will be provided by nursing staff and doctors during Treatment Room procedures.

​GST applies to issuing of some certificates and for some medical examinations, but not to treatment services.

Prescriptions and Request Forms

  • $25.00 per regular script
  • $30.00 per urgent/same day script
  • $5.00 extra per faxed script

Our Doctors would prefer patients attend the Bulk-Billed Script Clinics which are held every day at both surgeries, whenever possible. These short appointments are for repeat prescriptions of current medications only and must be attended by the person seeking the script. These short appointments are bulk-billed.

$20.00 for replacement x-ray and pathology request forms due to loss/misplacement.

Billing Policy and Accounts

From October 2022, SCMP will unfortunately no longer offer routine bulk-billing for Doctors consultations. The reason for these changes is due to ongoing inadequate Medicare rebates, lack of incoming Doctors, and the ever-increasing costs of running a Medical Practice. For further information, please see our "News" page. We really appreciate your understanding.

Payment is by cash, cheque, EFTPOS or credit card after each consultation or service (apart from some operations). If a consultation takes longer than anticipated, then a higher fee will be applicable.
EFTPOS Tyro surcharges apply and information on specific fees can be found at Reception desks and on waiting room Powerpoint presentations.

​If you have any problems with payments or accounts, please discuss this with your Doctor.

Failure to attend an appointment without reasonable prior notice to our reception staff will firstly evoke a warning letter. If the patient fails to attend their appointment a second time, it will result in a fee being charged which will not be claimable through Medicare. Any service not paid for on the day of the consultation will also incur a $5 accounting fee.
