TATHRA FIRES

TATHRA FIRES

Our heartfelt sympathy goes out to all our colleagues, friends and patients who have been affected by the recent devastating fires in Tathra and the surrounding area.
Counselling sessions are currently available, for anyone affected by the fires, each Wednesday from 2pm to 5pm.  These sessions are being provided FREE OF CHARGE by professional counsellors from Grand Pacific Health.  Please drop in, or phone our Tathra Surgery on 6494 1877, to arrange an appointment.

The Tathra Surgery will be open on Saturday mornings between 10am and 12pm until the end of May 2018.  These sessions are for urgent appointments only and generally relating to the fires eg. injuries sustained in clean up, mental health of our patients who are unable to access the surgery during week days.

STAFF CHANGES

Dr Marshman, Dr Piotrowski and Dr Daley oversee the care for all the patients of the practice, with support from our Registrars and Practice Nurses.  The Registrars and Nurses have regular meetings with Drs Marshman, Piotrowski and Daley, who are available at all times for advice and discussion regarding any patient concerns.

If you are not able to see your usual doctor on every occasion, the Practice will endeavour to make an appointment for you with one of the Principal Doctors periodically.

We are fortunate to have a cohort of GP Registrars, who work with us while completing their specialist training in General Practice. These GP Registrars will stay with the Practice for anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.  We are hopeful that some of them will stay with Sapphire Coast Medical Practice, so make them welcome!

We also welcome a new rotation of ANU Medical students.

With ongoing teaching and recruiting, over the next 1-2 years, we hope to have a number of GP’s staying with us at the Sapphire Coast Medical Practice on a more long term basis.

Dr Yen Khor has also elected to continue his training with us for a further six months and will remain until the end of July 2018.
Dr Anis Hamdan has joined the team and Dr Randall Kelly has returned on a fortnightly rotation.

Our Registrars bring a wealth of knowledge and experience with them and will be valuable members of our team.
A Registrar is a qualified Doctor who has chosen to specialise as a General Practitioner, in the same way that a surgeon or paediatrician undertakes further studies to specialise in their field.  Registrars are qualified Doctors who have completed their medical degree and have undertaken a minimum of two years training in a public hospital where they gained exposure to a wide range of clinical situations including surgery and emergency medicine.
